Scania go interactive
In celebration of the Fortieth Anniversary of the Scania V8 engine the company have put together an interesting webite with plenty of interactivity. There are animations with engines expanding out to show the components as well as downloadable sound files of the V8′s roar.
The Scania V8 40 website is part of a new online look from Scania. They have brought truck maufacturers websites into the 21st Century and have created an interesting and entertaining site.
Scania are also well up on the whole new social media agenda as well. They have created the Social Media Newsroom a web experience for all of those Twittering, playing on Facebook, putting their images on Flickr, viewing YouTube, Friendfeed and looking for RSS feeds.
It is about time someone in the trucking world woke up to the new generations coming through who expect instant information and the ability to comment directly on something they read. Will this sell more trucks? Who knows. What it does demonstrate is a willingness to engage with the trucking world on a one-to-one basis and that can only be a positive
