Transport Hall of Fame Reunion

This weekend has been the Road Transport Hall of Fame Annual Reunion. Another 48 trucking legends were inducted onto the Wall of Fame. It was a chance to celebrate the lives of those unsung heroes of the highway and honout those who have formed the backbone of the trucking industry in Australia as it grew.

The Hall of Fame also has an overwhelming collection of vintage trucks being added to every day as the volunteers restore them for exhibition. Here’s a small selection of some of them.

An old Mack B61 painted up in the colours of the Hall of Fame.

A classic, a Rotinoff prime mover and road train.

This ancient Inter is painted up McColls original colours.

Kenworth’s own Hall of Fame is also on site.

This is a heavily customised Foden.

Leyland also had a contender in the road train prime mover stakes in those days.

Mack B61s were the backbone of the trucking industry in the sixties.

Bertha, the original road train.
