It can be hard working in the trucking industry and today etruck is getting a taste of reality for truckies in the city. Today’s test drive is of a Fuso Canter with a 6 speed auto box around the mean streets of the Gold Coast.

This is the kind of truck and transport task I cut my teeth on, many years ago but the changes in conditions and equipment since then are dramatic.

This truck is easy to drive and it has enough power and torque to get the job done safely and swiftly. Another vast improvement has occured in steering both in terms of power assist and turning circle.

It almost makes me think about going back on the road. But not quite!
