On with the show
The Brisbane Truck Show is to move to the Brisbane Convention Centre for the next event in May 2010. This marks the end of a long ongoing relationship with the RNA Showgrounds dating back to 1968 and the show’s coming of age as a major national event.

As the show has expanded in recent years the logistical problems of getting the flow of visitors right and keeping exhibitors satisfied with their exposure have become increasingly clear. By moving to one large covered state-of-the-art venue the show will now be on a par with other top truck shows around the world.
It is probably the swift rise in popularity lof the Melbourne Truck Show which has brought about the improvement all round in the standard of truck shows in Australia. There are now two shows, run on alternate years, competing to be the number one and being forced to compete to keep up standards.
This can only be good for truck show visitors as each event has to improve to keep their premium postion and fend off smaller competitors. The success of the upcoming ITTES Melbourne Show has probably served as a spur for the move by Brisbane and a better quality show in Queensland next year at the new venue will drive further improvement in the Melbourne event in two years time.
It is probably a good idea to register my interest here as etruck pays the bills by writing about trucks for the same organisation involved in the ITTES. That said, I was inspired to write this piece as an enthusiastic truck show attendee rather than in a professional capacity.
