Trucks in camo
These spy photos have reached us from Europe and illustrate a new tactic from the truck manufacturers to disguise the shape of the prototype trucks. These shots were taken in Italy and have appeared on the Italian truck website Tuttotrasporti.
They show a couple of trucks carrying no distinguishing marks with their panel shape made difficult to assess due to the camouflage paint job.
The gossips on Brian Weatherley’s BigLorry Blog reckon it could be a number of candidates including DAF, MAN, Mercedes Benz or even Scania.
Mercedes Benz are known to be developing a new cab and these images do resemble some earlier spy pictures from last year.
If this is a new cab from DAF then it will be of more interest to Australian readers as any new development Paccar are engaged in could include a new cab for the Kenworth here as a replacement for the ageing K108.
All you have to do is visualise a large radiator with the Kenworth emblem at the top fitted to the front of these test trucks. From this point of view it would be very difficult to imagine.
In which case, etruck votes this new truck to be a Benz! Any more guesses?
