Brisbane Truck Show

Day one of the Brisbane Truck Show and there’s plenty of new gear to see and pretty good crowds. Despite the privations of the GFC, exhibitor numbers have held up well and early indications are of a reasonable attendance.
Common themes on most truck manufacturers’ stands is alternative fuels and hybrids, no surprise there!
Highlights include the spark ignition Cummins ISL compressed natural gas engine fitted in a concrete agitator for Boral. Incredibly, this truck meets the requirements of the US EPA 2010 emissions rules. This is claimed as a world first for a cement truck.
Another first is the Kenworth T388 fitted with a Cummins ISLe engine with SCR imported from Europe. Cummins seem to be having a good show, again.
Talking point for many is the 1000hp Svempas Scania cabriolet which etruck sampled earlier from the driver’s seat (pics to follow soon).
Most important of all, however, is Brisbane’s biggest virtue, a chance to meet up with old friends and talk rubbish about trucks.
