Cheaper Queensland diesel under threat

The fuel subsidy rebate keeping diesel prices lower in the Sunshine State than elsewhere in Australia may be dropped in the 2009/2010 budget, to be announced soon by the Queensland Government.

The transport industry from all over Australia has benefited from cheaper diesel when they visit north of the border as the Labor Government in Queensland government has maintained the rebate.

The RACQ have set up a petition to protest against this increase in fuel costs on their website. Anyone with a Queensland address can sign the petition but even if you come from outside of the state, phone someone you know in Queensland to register your protest.
