And now…. in English

Here is the video from Mercedes Benz about the taxi Actros, supposedly working as a a taxi picking up people from Volvo and MAN dealerships in Germany. It’s difficult to tell whether this is for real or not but the pixelated faces do suggest this is real footage. If it is, then they are being [...]

Cab control from Benz

One of the issues identified in Australia for Mercedes Benz Actros models over the years has been the cab suspension. Driving the enormous MegaSpace cab on some of our ordinary roads could be very uncomfortable. Its sheer top heavy size and soft cab suspension meant the dipping and swaying on rough roads came close to [...]

Preview peek at the new Actros

Here’s a quick look around the all new Actros at some delightful location in Malaga, Southern Spain. This spec looks ideal for the European market but we will have to wait a few years before we see what form this truck will take in Australia. It seems they are calling the engine a 12 litre, [...]

Going round the Benz

GeoTagged, [S37.85761, W144.71345] On the south coast of Victoria lies the sleepy town of Angelsey, just inland, up in the wild and windy woods is the test track owned by trucking tycoon Lindsey Fox. Today, etruck has been trying out the best of the Mercedes Benz truck range there. The track has a number of [...]

Benz on trial

I have spent the last day and a half testing the new-look Actros. The 2660 has used its 600 hp hauling a B-double set at just under 60 tonnes on some great driving roads. After leaving Newcastle and heading through the traffic nightmare that is known as Sydney, The good fun started after turning off [...]
